My wife and I traveled over 1,200 miles to dine with you. You were one of our vacation destinations and the drive was worth it. Although many may consider you a seafood destination, including my wife, I think you have wonderful, tasty, and tender steaks—prime rib, too. Thanks for a delightful evening. Your service—Ginger—and our meal were simply wonderful. —Bill H.
I was in Bar Harbor about a month ago and I really liked your place. The young lady who waited on us was very nice, and the New England Clam Chowder is the one to which all others are compared. The view looking out over the harbor is great. —David G.
Our trip to Bar Harbor last week was made special by Galyn’s. Your staff made us feel welcome in Bar Harbor, and the food, well, what can I say? We ate at Galyn’s every night during our stay in Bar Harbor. My wife drank one of your Blueberry Mojitos while there, and life hasn’t been the same since. Could you please share your recipe with us? We have tried many different Blueberry Mojitos, but none compares to yours. —Fred S.
Dinner of two rare prime ribs was fantastic tonight! Our server, Kim, was great, and so was the food...thanks for everything!—Dianna & Bob M.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lobster lunch there last Wednesday. We were on the MSC cruise ship POESIA. Although our visit was just a few hours, we were smitten with the charm of the friendly folks and beauty of the scenery. We are planning to visit again, but by car so we can spend more time. Thanks again for a wonderful time, complete with blueberry crisp! —Neil & Alice P.
Many thanks for setting up such a nice scene for Michael and Susan’s send-off. We all enjoyed the venue, service and food, and we really appreciate everything you did to ensure that!—Pamela P.
My dad makes a homemade chowder that has never been topped. I don’t even bother ordering it out, but my friend had it, and I tasted it. Sorry dad! I came back for lunch the next day and had my own bowl.—Anna from Cape Cod
Our officiant posted this with our story. Since Galyn’s is mentioned for the great food, wanted to pass it along: READ ARTICLE —Rosemary S.
For ten years my husband and I have traveled to Bar Harbor. Our first evening has always been a wonderful meal at your fine restaurant. My husband never varies, repeatedly ordering your Frenchman Bay Stew. I’ve tried to replicate your recipe, but just can’t get it right! Keep up the great service and delicious meals. We will see you again soon!—Carol S.
It was dark and rainy as we walked down, but your restaurant was anything but. We had a reservation and were seated at an upstairs window table within seconds. Our server Molly was very prompt and professional the entire meal. We shared the crab cake appetizer—one for each, very nice. We both ordered the prime rib—she got the small cut center, I the hearty cut end as I requested—both were perfect. We took a chance on your house red wine, and it blended nicely with the beef. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, still with a little crunch in the center. We shared a creme brulee for dessert which was as good as any I have had. I have been eating out in restaurants regularly for 40 years in eastern Canada and the New England states—yours doesn’t take a back seat to any, very good value. My first trip back to Bar Harbor in 30 years...may have to go back more often. Well done and thank you. —Blair C. & Lisa W.
